It’s essential to know what your pet is allergic to. If you can find out what your pet is allergic to, you can remove the allergen or find a solution to minimize it. Some common allergens for pets include:

• Heat
• Dust
• Bug bites
• Pollen
• Mold Spores

Checking for some of these symptoms can help you see if your pet has a potential skin allergy; here are some signs to look for in your pet:

• Itching (Itchy ears especially)
• Excessive licking or chewing of paws
• Biting or gnawing at the skin
• Inflammation of skin
• Hair loss
• Rashes
• Hives, bumps, or irregular marks on the body
• Swollen paws or face

Skin allergies in pets don’t have to be through direct contact through some allergic reactions from bug bites, fleas, ticks are through direct contact, there are different ways for your pet to be introduced to the allergen. 

One way is through inhalation when your pet breathes in such things, such as pollen, dust, or other particles in the air that can cause an allergic reaction to your pet that can travel through your pet’s body. 

Another way is ingested, pets can be allergic to the ingredients in their food, or they might have eaten something that doesn’t agree with them.
